Express Entry: Canada invites 635 PNP candidates

by admin

The Express Entry system has invited 635 more Provincial Nominee Program candidates (PNP), to apply for permanent residency.

The latest draw for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada was held on September 1. Since all candidates had received a 600-point Express Entry nomination, the minimum score was 764. Maximum points received are 1,200.

The cutoff for those with the minimum score was April 12, 2021, 12:21:45 UTC. The tie-breaker is published by IRCC for each draw, regardless of whether there was an actual tie.

Invitational candidates have now 60 days to apply in order to obtain permanent residency

It is now the summer of 2021 and, unlike last year’s pandemic, IRCC has only invited Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and PNP candidates.

While IRCC is closing applications for CEC applicants who applied in January 2018, Express Entry candidates from other programs could experience delays. According to the IRCC website, this is because of a limited ability to process these applications.

The progress bar was removed from Express Entry applicants’ online accounts by the IRCC effective March 26. Candidates can still access current information regarding the status of their Express Entry application by visiting the “Details About Application Status” section.

Invitations for Express Entry nearly double the 2020 levels

The number of invitations to apply (ITAs) has almost doubled in the past year at IRCC. IRCC has already sent out 106 414 ITAs in 2021. There is a greater chance that IRCC will accept its target of 108.500 newcomers via Express Entry in 2021 if there are more invitations.

Due to the nature CEC- or PNP-only draws, minimum scores requirements have fluctuated. CEC draws have lower cutoffs due to the concentration of applicants in one draw. For example, they are not competing against others in Federal Skilled Worker Program. IRCC is able to invite more candidates with larger draw sizes. This lowers the score.

PNP candidates automatically receive 600 points when they nominate their province. Therefore, PNP draws will always be more than any other Express Entry draw. Since June, PNP draws have varied from the low 740s up to 760.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is used to manage applications by Canada’s most popular immigration programs. There are three options: the Canadian Experience Class (Federal Skilled Worker Program), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (Federal Skilled Trades Program). PNP candidates who are part of the Express Entry pool have been granted admission to one of these programs. The candidates applied for a provincial nomination and were granted it. This increased their score by 600 points.

Express Entry uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank applicants’ profiles. It is a points-based system. The highest-scoring candidates are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and may then apply for permanent residency.

An IRCC officer will review the application and make a decision. They may ask for biometrics and set up interviews or request additional documents.

If the application is accepted, IRCC issues a Confirmation Of Permanent Residence (COPR). The landing process can be completed by approved permanent residents. They can also access pre-arrival services if they are not in Canada to assist them with the first steps of settling down in Canada.

Who was invited?

This is an example of someone who might have been invited to the Express Entry draw.

Nashwa, 34, has a Master’s Degree and has been working in software development for ten years. She took the IELTS listening section and received a score of 7.5 for all other categories. She has never studied or worked in Canada. Nashwa applied for the Express Entry pool. She also submitted a profile through the International Skilled Worker Saskatchewan Express Entry stream. With a 360 CRS score, she entered the Express Entry pool. After submitting her profile to Saskatchewan, Nashwa received an invitation to apply for the provincial nomination. After being nominated, Nashwa’s Express Entry CRS score rose to 960. She was then invited to apply for permanent residence in Express Entry.
